RSPCA week education debate terms and conditions

Please read the terms and conditions before entering this competition. By entering the competition, entrants agree to be bound by these competition rules.

  1. No purchase is necessary
  2. The competition is open from 10:00am on Tuesday, 1st April and closes at 10:00am on Friday, 25th April 2014 (the “Competition Period”) no entries will be accepted after the closing date and no responsibility will be accepted for entries lost or damaged. Entrants must submit a video recording of their RSPCA week debate by post or email
    i. Postal entries must be sent to David Allen, Head of Education, RSPCA, Wilberforce Way, Southwater, RH13 9RS
    ii. Email entries must include a link to the video entry (such as on YouTube) and sent to david.allen@rspca.org.uk
  3. Entrants may enter as many videos as they wish
  4. All children filmed in the entries under the age of 16 must have their parent's or legal guardian's permission to enter the competition
  5. All entrants will be required to provide written evidence that all parents and guardians of children under the age of 16 shown in the footage have given their written permission for use of their child's image in this way and have read and agreed to these competition terms and conditions
  6. The RSPCA is not liable should there be any adverse repercussions in social media including, but not limited to 'cyber bullying', resulting from the child's image being shown
  7. The competition is not open to employees of the RSPCA or their families
  8. Winners will be selected by an RSPCA staff panel consisting of no less than 2 full time RSPCA staff members
  9. The criteria for judging the merit of valid entries shall be at the sole discretion of the RSPCA
  10. In the events of any dispute relating to the competition, the decision of the RSPCA is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
  11. Entries shall not be returned to entrants or prize-winners and the RSPCA reserves the right to use entries for promotional purposes
  12. By entering this competition, entrants accept that if they are winners, the RSPCA reserves the right to use the names and general location of winners and the winning entries in any publicity that the RSPCA deems appropriate, including the announcement of winners via Facebook and Twitter
  13. Winners will be notified by email or telephone on 2nd May 2014 and subsequently announced on 2nd May 2014 via Facebook and Twitter
  14. If an entry chosen to be a prize winner does not include valid contact details or the prize-winner does not respond within 5 working days of being contacted by the RSPCA or the prize-winner rejects the prize, the RSPCA will draw a replacement prize-winner
  15. The prize consists of up to 50 tickets (to be distributed between the three winning categories at the RSPCA discretion) to the London Pet Show Live 2014. Standard class return travel, by train, (public) coach or bus (whichever is most applicable) is included from anywhere in England and Wales for you and your allocated number of students to London on either Saturday, 17th May or Sunday, 18th May 2014. Accommodation is not included. The RSPCA reserves the right to disqualify any entry without notice. The ‘prize’ is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative
  16. Entrants’ personal data will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the individual’s prior consent
  17. All those involved with the competition assume no liability for any loss, damage or injury, including without limitation: (i) delayed, misdirected, late, destroyed, illegible or incomplete entries; (ii) loss, theft or damage to software or computer data, including any breach of privacy; (iii) fraudulent entries; (iv) inability of any person to participate in the competition for any reason including technical, computer or telephone malfunctions or other problems with computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, or software; congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination of the foregoing; (v) damage to any person’s devices or data, including as a result of playing or downloading any material relating to the Contest; (vi) any delay or inability to act resulting from an event or situation beyond their control
  18. By entering this competition all entrants confirm that:
    i. they hold the copyright and all other rights in the video and photo and they do not contain any material which is the work of and/or belongs to a third party; and
    ii. upon entry, he/she assigns all rights (including but not limited to copyright) in the video to the RSPCA and further agrees that the RSPCA will make full use of the video including cutting, editing, modifying and/or publishing them on the RSPCA website, using them on the RSPCA Facebook page and in any marketing communications (both online and offline) including in social and any other media
  19. By participating in this competition, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions
  20. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and entrants agree to irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in respect of any dispute arising out of or in connection with them
  21. The RSPCA reserves the right to amend the competition terms and conditions or to terminate the competition at any time without any liability to any contestant. The decisions of the RSPCA with respect to any dispute or issue involving a contest are final and binding on all contestants
