In this activity, young people have the opportunity to share their opinions about animals. For example, they can explore:

  • what situations they feel are right or wrong
  • how animals affect their lives
  • the level of responsibility they feel towards different types of animals.

Young people will be able to:

  • discuss their opinions about a range of issues relating to animals
  • have any negative views gently challenged. 

Number of participants: We recommend you run this activity with just one person.

 

How long it will take: Allow 30-60 minutes for this activity.

In this activity, the young person will discover that animals and humans have the same basic needs.


Number of participants: You can run this activity with just one person, or in a small group.

How long it will take: The activities will take about 20 to 40 minutes altogether.

Feelings

Feelings

In this activity, young people look at animals in different scenarios. They consider how they would feel in each situation and then consider how the animal might feel.They will begin to develop an understanding that:

  • animals and humans can experience a range of positive and negative emotions
     
  • animals can┬┐t always show their feelings in a way we can recognise, therefore they should always be given the benefit of the doubt in situations where they could be suffering.

Number of participants: You can run this activity with just one person, or in a small group.
 

How long it will take: This activity will take approximately 5 to 10 minutes per picture.
