Before you get started
What you will need
Utensils
- Oven
- Large bowl
- Mixing spoon
- Rolling pin
- Cookie cutter
- Baking tray
Ingredients
- 2 cups (480g) of wholewheat flour
- 1 cup (240g) of chopped RSPCA Assured salmon
- 1 large RSPCA Assured egg
Instructions
Baking cat treats
Preheat oven and mix
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Mix all ingredients in a bowl until it forms a dough.
Roll and cut
Dust your work surface with flour and roll out the dough until it is 0.6cm (1/4 inch) thick.
Cut out biscuits using a cookie cutter and place on an ungreased baking tray.
Bake and let cool
Bake your biscuits for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Leave the biscuits to cool down.
Hide the treats
Cats are natural hunters. Hiding treats in cardboard boxes, under clean yoghurt pots or in cardboard tubes around your home will make them use different senses to find the food.
Break a biscuit into smaller pieces so more can be hidden. Only give them one treat per day to help them stay a healthy weight.
