Oscar
When we rescued Oscar, he was painfully thin. Fearful and reactive, he was classified as a 'red' dog with specialist needs. Months of work with our vet team and animal behaviourists helped this gentle boy learn to be loved. Now Oscar has found his forever home with Paul and Carol. They adore him and Oscar is finally getting the long walks and playtime that he deserves.
Maurice
This cheeky chap was rescued by one of our inspectors. He had a nasty wound and an abscess on his face, so he needed veterinary treatment and a good dose of TLC. Thankfully, our animal care staff are great matchmakers and soon found Maurice a calm home with owners willing to earn his trust. Maurice he no longer bites the hand that feeds (and strokes) him.
Dolly
Dolly came to our wildlife centre in East Sussex. A marine rescue team found the young seal stranded on a beach and weighing just 12kg. Unable to survive by herself in the wild, she came to us for care where we discovered a serious injury to her right eye. Dolly was treated and monitored closely. After a few more weeks she is being released back to the sea in January, weighing a healthy 38.6kg.
Loki
Loki’s vet spotted the signs of abuse and called us to step in. Our rescuer found a desperate animal with multiple broken bones. Loki was so swollen and bruised our inspector couldn’t tell what type of dog he was. Yet despite the cruelty he’d known, Loki trusted humans and craved compassion. Now he’s found a loving home for life with Fabi and Chris, who’ll make sure all he knows now is kindness.
Dolly
When we first set eyes on Dolly, her muzzle was swollen and bruised. The X-rays revealed unthinkable injuries – a fractured skull, broken foot and dislocated tail – all consistent with being beaten. But like so many victims of cruelty, Dolly has shown such resilience. With emergency treatment and ongoing care she’s made a full recovery. Safe with her adoring owner, she’s learned to trust again.
Zara
Our rescuer was shocked to find Zara so badly bruised and bleeding. At only 12 weeks old, Zara had suffered such fear, but despite the pain she must have felt, she fell calm as our vet treated her. Now she lives happily with one of her RSPCA carers, who says she’s the most affectionate cat they’ve known.
Every kind of rescue

Merlin
As soon as RSPCA Inspector Nicole Broster set eyes on this kitten, she knew he’d be going home with her. Merlin arrived at our Finsbury Park Animal Hospital in need of urgent care. His back paw was red and deformed – and there was a raw wound where his nose used to be. He must have been in so much pain, but this brave cat has made an amazing recovery and is now a cherished family member.

We couldn't fund our life-saving work for animals without you.
More than 80 percent of your donation (81p from every £1) will go to rescuing and caring for vulnerable animals, then rehoming or releasing them. This helps abandoned or neglected pets get the treatment and love they deserve. It helps injured or orphaned wildlife in need.
The next 18p from each £1 goes towards fundraising. Each year, we rescue more than 100,000 animals. Without the funds gained through our marketing, we would not be able to finance our crucial work.
The remaining 1p from each £1 goes towards governance. This will support our board members as they create campaigns and push for governance change. At home or abroad, our prevention campaigns are essential for improving the safety and happiness of animals.
