Responsibility towards animals

Quality of life is determined by the world we build for them. Use these short lessons to teach your child about our responsibility to ensure every animal has a life worth living.

Inspire action

The fairness test

A good life means having the freedom to choose. Help your child assess animal welfare by asking two simple questions when you are out and about:

"How much choice does that animal have? And is that fair?"

Opportunities you might encounter:

  • Handling Events: Are the animals free to walk away and hide, or are they crowded?

  • Shared Spaces: Look at local parks or community areas. Has human activity left a safe home for wildlife?

Animal Champion

Champions don't just care; they take action. Give your child the tools to improve animal lives with these hands-on activities. Whether it’s for pets or wildlife, they’ll earn a certificate for every positive change they make.

make a pond for wildlife

Welcome wildlife with a splash. More than just a drinking station, it could become a home for frogs, newts, and dragonflies.

soft nests

Become a supplier for nature’s busy builders. Garden birds need soft, dry bedding to line their nests, and a well-stocked supply station gives them the perfect start for a safe, healthy family.

The 'Dog-First' Walk

Turn your dog walk into a sniffari. Your dog’s nose is their superpower, and swapping speed for sniffing provides a mental workout that leaves them happier.
A cat having playtime with it's owner

These resources helped my kids learn to care for our kitten and it’s been amazing to see them grow more responsible!
