Below you’ll find our suggested activity packages, tailored to the time you’re committing to help you structure your volunteering.

Which package is right for me?
Each package shows you how many activities to pick in each section to make up the required hours, helping you plan your volunteering journey step-by-step.
The packages have been designed to help you build a broad range of skills and learning experiences. However, you are very welcome to explore and engage with the activities in a way that suits you best.
13 hour volunteer package

13 hour volunteer package
Build your core animal welfare skills with our 13 hour volunteering package, designed for DofE Bronze participants.
Section 1: Discovery
We recommend choosing one activity from below:
- Explore animal welfare frameworks (2 hours)
- Investigate an RSPCA campaign (2 hours)
- Write from an animal's perspective (2 hours)
Section 2: Ethics
We recommend choosing one activity from below:
- Ethics of extreme breeding (4 hours)
- Ethics of farming and animal value (4 hours)
- Ethics of wildlife extinction (4 hours)
Section 3: Make something
We recommend choosing one or two activities from below:
- Bake cat treats (2 hours)
- Bake dog treats (2 hours)
- Make a bee drinking station (2 hours)
- Make a bird nest material holder (2 hours)
- Make a home for hedgehogs (3 hours)
- Make bird treats (2 hours)
Section 4: Do something
We recommend choosing one or two activities from below:
- Assess film and media (3 hours)
- Become an advocate for wildlife (3 hours)
- Capturing animal behaviours (3 hours)
- Farm animal observation (3 hours)
- Write to your local counciller (3 hours)
26 hour volunteer package
Build deeper animal welfare skills with our 26 hour volunteering package, designed for DofE Silver participants.
Section 1: Discovery

- Investigate an RSPCA campaign (2 hours)
- Write from an animal's perspective (2 hours)
