Build your menu

Choose native UK plants to grow in your Wildlife Café.


Your challenge is to create a café that:

  • feeds insects
  • provides food in more than one season (spring, summer or autumn)

Think of it like building a seasonal menu for wildlife.

 

Adult guidance: If you're growing plants with children, always check that the plants you choose are suitable for your home, garden and any pets. Some plants can be harmful if eaten or touched, so follow the instructions on seed packets or plant labels and supervise children when gardening.

Look at your choices:

  • Which insects will benefit?
  • Is there food available across more than one season?


Native plants are important because many UK insects rely on them for food.
