How we care for animals | RSPCA - RSPCA
Care for animals
Every year we take in and care for thousands of animals, from pets to wildlife and everything in between. After the animals in our care have been full rehabilitated they're either released back into the wild if that's where they came from or are found new and loving homes.
Rehabilitation
A lot of the animals who come into our care need specialist treatment before they can be found new homes. Rehabilitation can mean straightforward rest and recuperation, along with any necessary veterinary treatment - but it can also mean something a bit more involved.
Over 18,000 wild animals are admitted by our staff to wildlife centres every year
Release of wildlife
When wild animals are ready for release following care in our centres, it isn't as simple as just letting them go. To ensure they have the best possible chance of survival back in the wild there are things we need to consider.
